Mike TeiferMike TeiferCertified Personal Trainer, CPR & AED Certified

A 1980 graduate of Jacksonville University, Mike Teifer has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. While a student at JU, he also played baseball. After graduation, he began a 19-year career as a Physical Education teacher and High School coach. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of North Florida.

While Mike was teaching and coaching, he utilized his personal training lessons with his student athletes. In 2002, he decided to dedicate his career to the personal training and coaching profession fulltime. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, and serves as a Sports Program Design Specialist in baseball training. Mike holds his Personal Training certification through the International Fitness Professional Association. He and his wife Cheryl live in Ponte Vedra, where they have 3 sons: Robert, Chris, and Ryan.

Eric-CottrillEric CottrillCertified TPI Golf Fitness Instructor, CPR & AED Certified

Eric is the owner of Meridian Fitness. He received his Bachelors from the University of Massachusetts. He has more than 15 years of experience working with a diverse clientele base. Eric specializes in golf fitness training and conditioning. He holds multiple certifications through the Titleist Performance Institute.

While  sport  specific  training  is  his  specialty, Eric also enjoys  training  to  all  fitness  levels. He also instructs  a  variety  of  classes  including  Spin,  Bootcamp,  and  Interval  Training. As an  avid  golfer  himself,  Eric  can  be  found  on  the  links  on  the  weekends. He also enjoys following his New England sport teams.

John-DipatreJohn DiPatreCertified Master Trainer (AMFPT), Certified Sport Specific Trainer (ASFA), CPR & AED Certified

John has provided personal training for more than 15 years. Prior  to  joining the profession, John played  quarterback  in  college  and  as  a  professional  football  player. He has  also served  as the  quarterback  coach  and  strength  and  conditioning  coach  for  the  Ponte Vedra Sharks, who  won  back-­‐to-­‐back  district  championships  during  his  three  years  on  the coaching staff.

Some  of  John’s  clients  have  been  high  school  athletes: Miss  Jacksonville  2011  and  Miss Central  Florida  2009. Others  include  former  professional  and  college  athletes:  Joe  Carter (East  Carolina  University  linebacker),  Dillion  Bates  (University  of  Tennessee  linebacker), Lee  Humphries  (former  Florida  Gator  Basketball  player),  and  Super Bowl  champion  Mark Brunell,  to  name  a  few. John was born in San Francisco. He  is  married  to  his  beautiful wife,  Kathleen,  and  has  three children:  Chelsea,  Cole,  and  Ellie. John  enjoys  working  out with  heavy  weights  and  believes  consistency  is  the  key  to  success. He believes that, “No matter  what  your  goals,  you  have  to  find  a  way  to  make  exercise  a  part  of  your  life, for life.”

Certified Personal Trainer, TPI Certified

Laura comes to Meridian Fitness with more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. Laura’s career in fitness started when she got her B.A. from the University of Washington in P.E/Kinesiology and took a job as a cardiac rehab program director. When her two kids were little, she got an opportunity to teach at Olympic College in the Phys Ed department. In the 12 years at O.C., she also taught aerobics classes, helped manage a new athletic facility and coached 4 years of high school tennis and volleyball.

After moving to Oakland, California in 2002, Laura finished her M.S. in Sport Science/Sports Medicine while teaching PE and working as a trainer. She opened her own training studio in Berkeley, which she ran with her husband/business partner for 8 years. Laura has specialized in corrective exercise and core strength training for the past several years. Laura plays on a local working women’s tennis team, goes hiking with her dog, practices golf, and likes to spend time with her daughter and son-in-law here in Jacksonville. She visits her son and his family in California whenever possible.

Caroline brings more than 20 years of fitness expertise to our organization. Certified  by  the Aerobics  and  Fitness  Association  of  American,  she also carries qualifications  in  personal, group, and senior functional training, as well as Pilates instruction.

Caroline has a passion for competing in women’s bodybuilding. Along  with  her  own accomplishments  as  a  competitor,  she  enjoys  training  those  who  want  to  compete  in body shows. Her training includes all the necessary prep work that you need to complete before stepping on stage. By understanding your body and following a combination of fitness and nutrition, you will meet your goals. Whether you are a young athlete, a business professional, a new mom, or a client requiring injury rehabilitation, each program is designed specifically for you.
